Why your Windows 10 end of support upgrade cannot wait
Windows 10 stopped getting free security updates on 14 October 2025. Every new vulnerability found since then stays open on those machines unless you pay for Extended Security Updates, which Microsoft calls a temporary bridge.
Unsupported PCs are an easy way in for ransomware. They can also fail customer and Aramco CCC reviews that ask for supported, patched systems. The fix is a planned upgrade: move capable PCs to Windows 11, replace the rest, and dispose of old drives safely.

The numbers in Saudi Arabia
StatCounter data for September 2026 shows that about 27% of Windows desktop traffic in Saudi Arabia still comes from Windows 10, a year after support ended. StatCounter measures web traffic and includes home users, but it shows the refresh is far from finished.
Many of those PCs cannot run Windows 11 because of processor or TPM requirements. For them, the only supported path is new hardware.
Paying for Extended Security Updates buys time, but it does not fix old hardware, and the cost grows the longer you wait. A planned refresh lets you spread the work by department and budget.

Files move to OneDrive or the new device, so users keep working with minimal downtime.
Blancco erasure
Old drives are wiped with Blancco certified erasure software, and you receive an erasure report for each device.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to keep using Windows 10?
Not without Extended Security Updates. Since 14 October 2025, Windows 10 gets no free security fixes, so new vulnerabilities stay open. ESU is a temporary bridge, not a long-term plan.
Can our existing PCs run Windows 11?
Many PCs from about 2018 onwards can, if they have a supported processor and TPM 2.0. Older machines usually cannot. Our inventory tells you exactly which ones.
Do you supply Dell and HP laptops?
Yes. Waves is a Dell and HP/HPE partner. We quote business models with the right warranty, and can deliver them already enrolled in Intune.
Why use Blancco instead of formatting the drive?
Formatting or deleting files leaves data that recovery tools can bring back. Blancco overwrites the whole drive and produces a certified report, which proves the data was destroyed.
Can you erase drives at our office?
Yes. We can run Blancco erasure on site, so drives never leave your premises before they are wiped. You receive the reports when the work is done.
How long does a fleet upgrade take?
It depends on the number of PCs and how many need replacing. A small office can be done in days; larger fleets are rolled out in phases by department to avoid disruption.
What is Windows Autopilot?
Autopilot lets a new laptop set itself up when the user first signs in with their work account. Intune then installs apps, security settings and updates automatically. It saves hours of manual setup per device.
