Business CCTV installation in Al Khobar, done properly

A camera on the wall is easy. A CCTV system that records clear faces and number plates at night, keeps footage for the required period and cannot be switched off by an intruder takes proper design. Our CCTV installation in Al Khobar starts with a site survey, not a catalogue. We check lighting, distances, blind spots and where your recordings will be stored.

Waves Telecom is approved by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) as a CCTV installer, as the Saudi surveillance camera law requires for installing, operating and maintaining covered cameras.

As a CCTV company in Dammam and Al Khobar with an IT and cybersecurity background, we treat cameras as part of your network. That means separate network segments for cameras, strong passwords, updated firmware and controlled remote access, so your CCTV does not become a way into your business.

The Saudi surveillance camera law

The Law on the Use of Security Surveillance Cameras (Council of Ministers decision 27 Sep 2022, Royal Decree 3 Oct 2022) makes CCTV mandatory for many premises, including commercial warehouses, residential compounds, hotels, malls, banks, hospitals, schools, food outlets, fuel stations and commercial activity sites. Under Article 3, an activity licence cannot be issued or renewed until the camera requirements are met.

The law also sets rules on keeping footage unaltered, bans cameras in places such as changing rooms and restrooms, and fines sharing recordings without approval. Penalties include SAR 500 per camera that fails technical specifications and up to SAR 20,000 for unlawful transfer or publication of recordings. Read our surveillance camera law compliance page for the details and how we help you meet the requirements.

No activity licence is issued or renewed until camera requirements are met (Article 3).

Frequently asked questions

Is CCTV mandatory for my business in Saudi Arabia?

For many premise types, yes. The surveillance camera law lists categories such as warehouses, compounds, hotels, malls, food outlets, fuel stations and commercial activity sites. We can check your category and current setup during the site survey.

How long do recordings need to be kept?

The law refers to retention periods set in the official requirements document, and footage linked to an investigation must be kept unaltered until it ends. We size your storage to the period that applies to your site category. Our surveillance camera law page explains this further.

Can I watch my cameras from my phone?

Yes. We set up secure remote viewing for live video and playback. Access is limited to named users with strong passwords, so outsiders cannot connect.

What does AI video analytics actually do?

It recognises people and vehicles, so you get alerts for real events, such as someone climbing a fence at night, instead of trees moving in the wind. It also makes searching footage much faster.

Do you offer CCTV maintenance contracts?

Yes. Our annual maintenance contracts include scheduled visits, cleaning, health checks, firmware updates and fault response. They also cover systems installed by other companies after an initial inspection.

Can CCTV work with access control and gate barriers?

Yes. We can link cameras to door readers and ANPR gates, so each entry event is saved with matching video. This makes investigations faster and gives guards one screen to watch. See our access control and ANPR page for details.

Which areas do you cover?

We install CCTV in Al Khobar, Dammam, Dhahran and Jubail, and handle larger projects elsewhere in the Kingdom. Our office is in Al Aqrabiyah, Al Khobar.
